The Program for the Study and Support of Caregivers is a pioneering initiative at Weill Cornell Medicine, with a combined mission to research, support, and educate caregivers and the physicians who care for them and their loved ones. The program is generously supported by the Hearst Foundation.

The program's research team is led by Dr. Sara Czaja, an internationally recognized expert in the use of technology to support caregivers, and Dr. Catherine Riffin, an expert on the interactions between clinicians and family caregivers.

Led by Dr. Ronald Adelman, the program’s transformative research and training opportunities provide medical learners, including medical students and medical residents, with the tools and experiences they need to enhance their research and clinical skills — catalyzing their passion for improving the wellbeing of family and professional caregivers.

Paid Caregivers Division
Directed by Dr. Madeline Sterling, this division aims to improve the conditions and compensation of home health aides, enabling more patients to age in place.
