Dr. Sarah Perelman is an Assistant Professor in Clinical Emergency Medicine at Weill Cornell Medical College and practices emergency medicine at NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center and NewYork-Presbyterian/Lower Manhattan Hospital. Dr. Perelman is originally from Philadelphia. She earned her undergraduate degree in Biology and Comparative Literature at Brown University, where she graduated magna cum laude. She received her medical degree from the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. She completed emergency medicine residency at Cooper University Hospital, serving as Chief Resident during her final year. She then completed fellowship training in Geriatric Emergency Medicine at Harvard Medical School/Massachusetts General Hospital.Dr. Perelman serves as an on-call physician for the Vulnerable Elder Protection Team, and her academic interests include research and quality improvement initiatives targeted at improving emergency care for older adults. She has published and presented research on the impact of emergency department boarding and crowding on older adults, pain management in older adults, and advanced care planning discussions in the emergency department. She is also passionate about medical education. She is currently a member of the Education Committee and has experience leading simulation and procedure lab sessions for emergency medicine residents. Dr. Perelman values wellness; she served on the Wellness Committee at Cooper University Hospital thoughout residency. In her free time, she enjoys running, hiking, and trying new food with her family and friends.
